Volkswagen’s all-new Touareg range includes a clever hybrid version that can hit 62mph in 6.5sec or travel 30 miles on electric power alone.Set for a Geneva motor show unveil in March 2010 alongside the Porsche Cayenne – with which it once again shares a platform and most of its hardware – the new lower, curvier Touareg is 40mm longer than the car it replaces but up to 208kg lighter. Just like Georg Kacher predicted years ago.What's new on the 2010 VW Touareg?There are three engines from launch. Audi Q3 – finally official
Ahead of its official reveal at Shanghai this month, the baby SUV that is the Audi Q3 has bowed in, with plenty of detail and lots of photos. Looking exactly how it was expected to look – pretty much the same as the 2007 Audi Cross Coupe Concept , without the Concepty bits – and ready to fit in under the Q5 and mop up sales from those who want a premium, compact softroader. Under the skin the Audi Q3 is pure VW Tiguan, but Audi has grafted on a convincing set of sheet metal – and a typical, classy Audi interior – to put proper daylight between the cousins.
Opel/Vauxhall has previewed its Adam Rocks 'concept' ahead of its world debut at next month's Geneva motor show. This mini-crossover is taller and wider than the production Adam thanks to a suspension raised by 15mm with a 20mm wider stance. Its fabric sunroof suggests it will compete with the Fiat 500C and the new Citroen DS3 Cabrio.
The sketches show unpainted plastic bumpers and extended wheelarches along with underbody protection, emphasizing its rugged appearance apparently inspired by "parkour athletes".
